Dean- can you tell us what your vision is for the NRA and where you stand on things like Constitutional Carry and concealed carry reciprocity?

Yes... this the latter of your question is on my website - www.DeanBeersNRA.com/about-dean.html

I just finished (literally) some video to better answer these questions - but I have to put it all together and will post it to the site by tomorrow afternoon.

As to my vision of the NRA - I have been a Life Member since Nov 2011 and a member since a little boy - some lapses here and there. I believe in the NRA because it has been the strongest and steadfast defender of not only our 2nd Amendment, but our Bill of Rights and Constitution. Each of our rights are integral and reliant on the others to survive. Each person has the right, or not, to exercise any or all - or none - of them; but no one has the right to infringe on any.

That being said, I believe the NRA will continue to be the leader. If you look around, ordinary people are the NRA. We see some well known persons - but we mostly see people just like you and me. I have strong experience and leadership skills in our investigative and security professions. The NRA has been the leader, and supporter, in training of civilians, law enforcement and military. Since the late 1800s (1871, if I recall correctly) the NRA was formed to protect our civil rights and the right to defend ourselves and not be stripped of that right. The NRA is strong and will continue that.

Do I believe 100% in what the NRA does? No - none of us have believed 100% in anything we have been part of. But, on the major points, yes - I hold the same thoughts. If there is a specific (i.e. Constitutional carry), I'm glad to answer. I don't believe in gun free zones - they are an emotional crutch for those needing diaper pins and criminals do not have any morals or desire to be law abiding.

I hope this helps - I don't want to hold the full conversation on this post - but you are welcome to contact me any time by phone or email to have that conversation. I strongly feel this is my time to be serving something greater than me, and still continuing to serve our investigative and security professions.
