Q: I'm sure this is a simple Google search but I like horses’ mouths. What are the benefits of being a member of the NRA?
Specific to the 2nd Amendment - the NRA is the only civil rights organization - founded in 1871. Firearms safety - from civilian and youth to law enforcement and military training and training of instructors; firearms and life insurance; personal defense classes designed for women and youth; child firearm safety programs, etc.
Of course - you have 2nd Amendment advocacy - the strongest in the nation. Many think the NRA is opposed to 'common sense' regulations and legislation, but if you look close and beyond the fog - you see its not the case. The NRA has had a focus marksmanship and safety since being founded on that purpose. Oh, and you get a monthly magazine (there are four to choose from or add others for a very small annual fee).
I have been a member since my grandpa gave it to us as gifts some time before age 9, some lapses, and a Life Member since late 2001. I firmly stand by what the NRA does for me - and now I want to represent our investigative and security professions on the NRA Board.
